Posted: February 7, 2011 Filed under: Uncategorized Leave a comment »It would be wise of me to set weekly goals and put them out to the world here!
Let’s get started:
1. Run 2 today
Yoga on Tuesday
Body Pump Wednesday
Run 4.5 Thursday
Body Pump Saturday
East Nasty Run – Sunday. Annnnnd >> it’s supposed to be 50 on Sunday, yay!
2. Eat cleaner. Totally eliminate white flour & rice this week. I have already failed at this once today, but it’s never to late to start again.
3. Be cleaner. Geeeezzz I will try my hardest, but these kids I have put here on this good green earth are a constant saboteur of my cleaning!! Organization fairy, help me find space in my 1400 sqft home?!?!?!
4. Plan a trip to Art & Invention this week. Anybody game?
Remember these things Brecca, for they are important and written to you by the person who loves you most, yourself. xoxo

the stomach bug
stop
the 5k time trial run 43:32
the chuck on chuck
the cleansing yoga
the strong 5 mile run
the body pump miracle
the amazing 6 mile run
the empowering vinyasa yoga
the flu
stop
After 2 weeks ago with my 5k time trial run & with my stomach bug, then the 1 amazing week of training, now sitting here on my 2nd day of the real FLU! All I want to do is body pump & run in my head, but my body is begging me to get well and rest. I am going to be well enough to do body pump on Sat & run on Sunday. I just might not be as strong as if I had a really healthy week. We will see. East Nasty meets in Percy Warner for the first time, the hills will be good training. I hear there is a new CMM 1/2 course this year and the hill difficulty will be serious. I better get well and get back to training.
Yoga this week was crazy intense. I loved the rythmatic flow of the substitute teacher’s moves. It’s funny how thoughts are realized in real life. I was thinking about how much I love the voice and sounds of my teacher Wendy, and how I was hesitant to try a different class because of this strange loyalty I felt to Wendy’s class. But then when I showed up, there was a new instructor about to start, different mat, different set up. BUT omg, She moved me into a place I have not entered with yoga breath. We did a 50 second meditation before we began, and focusing on my breath before the movement started really helped me find that space and breath in the hardest of positions.
What really bit me in the ass about it all is this flu is a coughing flu, and my abs were so sore from her class EVERY time I cough, I feel my whole cage tense up. hahaha

Yoga is my new lover.
We are tangled and intertwined.
breathing, and holding breath
standing strong
planting my limbs strongly in the ground
We sway and move
to the sounds
of the life energy
Bring me to a place
where my own touch is new
loving and gentle
I am still, I am rocking, I am rock
with a movement
a whole new form opens
and I allow it to open
Remembering that pose
we made together as I sit here now
makes me swoon to find that moment
again and again

Long and Crazy DAY

Bayla, Lexie, Livie, Archer and Colton have been running circles around me today. Up to make pancakes this morning, cleaned the house, girls were here by 10. We got all the art supplies out including glitter and paint. Made paintings and glitter glue pictures for an hour. Kids played dress up and I made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, grapes and chips for lunch. After lunch the sun was shining and we went outside to play. They crawled, played kick ball, ran from one end of the yard to the other Wet grass made the baby muddy, and the kids were a total mess. Olivia was a muddy mess, so I showered her, washed her hair. After, I wash clothed the other kids and put Archer in the bath, diapered him and threw him in the bed for a nap. He was out in 2 mins. after a fuss to be with the other kids. I gave the girls a yogurt snack, then made everyone sit in their own spot on the sofa with a blanket and watch Snow White. Then I did laundry, cleaned up the art mess including a layer of glitter on the floor, and washed the dishes. About 20 mins before Snow White was over I climbed up on the couch and fell asleep. The girls were told they could get up after the movie so I was awakened to the sound of the girls rolling around on the living room floor giggling very loudly. I forced myself to wake up, and started making apple snacks with peanut butter. Colton escapes to Honey’s. Spaghetti bake for dinner with iceberg and ranch, and caned peaches for desert. The two little ones played dress up for a while, and then in the bath for them while I dealt with Archer crying to get into the bathroom with them. I ended up on the toilet with archer on my lap holding him as he talked to Bay and Lex in the tub. Jewels was in there and Liv was close behind. Archer finally headed towards bed with a bottle, Matt got home, it’s about 7:30 and I am pumping up an air mattress for the girls to sleep on. Clean up dinner, Pop pop corn, make a milk sippie for all the girls. Mama has a shot of vodka and Malibu rum & grape juice ;b All I can say is today was a busy day. I am still not done with it, and dern, I want to read some more of my book, but Matt wants to go to bed! Oh well!
I am reading . . .

Thinking of making a list of books I want to read before the end of the summer:

Random Crap to get out of my Head

I will preface this post to say I am not going to edit it for grammar, it is just a rant, so if you want to read it, good luck!! lol!!
It has been a struggle to get Bayla to eat and focus at the dinner table. She plays with everything and ends up spilling her drink, dropping her food, and not eating one bite until everyone is almost done eating. This morning I was not going to have it one more time. I counted to three, I asked kindly to stop playing and focus just on taking a bite, I look up to one thing or the other and I hear – oopsie – as she knocks the cereal all over the table. Bayla is almost 5 and she is still doing this every day. I put her in time-out and gave her a piece of my mind about not listening to Mommy, and how it shows Mommy and Daddy disrespect when she is asked to focus then immediately spills her cereal all over the table. After 4 mins of time out, I lovingly scoop her up and try to lick the wounds of how it hurts to get in trouble. If she could focus, then there would be more time for silly play before we have to brush hair & teeth to get to school. We kissed and hugged and I love you’s were traded, I took her off to school. But with honest remorse, I hate that I had to get so upset this morning to get my point across. As I sit and breathe, I know that what I am really providing is that “Parent” role that is so often missed by those who choose to have kids. If I sit and turn my back on my daughter as she blatantly disrespects me at the family table, imagine how she will be when she is a grown woman. With no boundaries, there are no safety nets for acceptable behavior.
Next topic: I invited a friend over for dinner the other night, and cooked a wonderful pot of chilli, bought Nathan’s hot dogs, and made a yummy strawberry ice-box pie. It was fun to see my friend, but in the first minute he was here he was telling me that I shouldn’t feed hot dogs to Archer. And that made my head spin for a second. What are you telling me? First off I need to rebuttal: Nathan’s Hot Dog’s are made from pure beef, no preservatives, and are blessed by rabbi. If my son is eating something DONT tell me what I should and should not feed him. That night Archer had some home-made chili poured over a whole wheat hot dog bun half, with a little cheddar sprinkled on top – then cut into little squares. Then on the side I cut up a 1/4 of the hot dog and put it by the chill dog. Any way, Archer loved it all and it couldn’t make mama prouder. He is eating our food, and loving it. Nothing could make me more proud, did I say that already. So again, thanks but no thanks, what does he know anyway, he doesn’t have kids, he doesn’t know half the crap they insist on eating by the time they truly develop taste buds for foods that are whole and natural!! And even tho this little incident pissed me off a bit, I have to say I still like the guy! He has traveled the world and has tons of great stories to tell. Maybe he should stick to that. And I can admit, sometimes when people say things like this, I can get my panties in a wad!! lol!! Oh, and he didn’t want to eat my strawberry icebox pie – it was delicious.
Strawberry Icebox Pie (use any variance you like)
2 containers of strawberry yogurt
1 regular cool-whip package
1 graham cracker pie crust
Whip yogurt and cool-whip together. Pour in graham cracker pie crust. Freeze 2 hours, then thaw for 10 min’s before cutting.

Posted: March 5, 2010 Filed under: Uncategorized Leave a comment »Last night Archer had less sleep in a long long while. Made me so glad I don’t have another little baby around here to keep me up at nights again!!
About 9:00 am today I came to life and realized that I promised my mom and dad that I would go to the Lawn and Garden show, so I hopped in the shower and took off there. It was nice, I bought two great garden buckets and 3 new Bermilliads. It was a good day. Talked with a guy about how to build a retainer wall by my house, and now I have a pretty good Idea on what I want to do . . . now to just dig in the dirt. I have a lot of spring garden work ahead of me!!
As I sit here and type, my head is so tired, my eyes ache and hurt. The last thing I want to do is go cook dinner, but you know what, I am going to go and figure something out and it’s going to be good, baby!

My baby likes Applesauce, and now he has many more teeth than before so I am branching into the real fruit itself.
Today Archer had half an apple cut up and microwaved until tender, then tossed with a tablespoon of mozzarella cheese! Yum, he ate every bite!
